Deep bass producer, DJ and multi-instrumentalist Aimerie (aka Kaite Watson) will share her experience performing at music festivals like Even Furthur and clubs such as the Exchange as well as being a lessons instructor at Slam Academy. The focus on this class will be learning the skills to augment your sound and learn the fundamentals of performance of Ableton Live 9 with MIDI controllers. Launch clips and scenes, control effect racks, incorporate external instruments, finger drum and more!
Participants should be able to write their own music, but all genres welcome including acoustic singer-songwriters wishing to expand their sound. Experience with a DAW (e.g. GarageBand, Logic, Ableton, etc) is recommended, but not required. Equipment will be provided, but students may also bring in their own computers and gear with instructor approval. Kaite is also available for private lessons. In addition, Beats by Girlz founder Erin Barra has a free 4-week Intro to Ableton Live course on Coursera which includes a 30-day trial for the software: https://www.coursera.org/learn/ableton-live
